Special Clubs

A Special Club is a club that is held on a one-off basis to reach children in the neigbourhood or in school at a special time of year, like Christmas or Easter, or to reach children for a short period, e.g. five weeks in a row.

craciunWhat is a Christmas Club?

A Christmas Club is a one-off meeting held at the beginning of December. The aim is to tell boys and girls the true meaning of Christmas. The meeting is held in a school, a community center, a church hall or in a home with local children being invited in for the special one-hour programme.

Not everyone feels able to actually teach a club, therefore volunteers may  help in one of three ways:

  • Open their home and teach the club.
  • Open their home and let someone else teach the club.
  • Maybe their home is not available but they are willing to go somewhere to teach e.g. in another home or take a school assembly.

Ready-to-use Christmas Club Lesson Packs are available.

Experienced CEF workers can provide training and help you get started. If you would like to organise or be involved in a Christmas Club, please send us an email with "Christmas Club" in the subject line, giving us your name, address and church connection and we will be in touch. Alternatively, you may want to contact your local CEF worker about this.
